Our Purpose
Ashton under Hill Men's Shed is a community workshop designed for men to come together, share skills, work on projects and run a repair shop.
Men’s Sheds are about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter.
Our purpose is to foster camaraderie, creativity, and community spirit among men in Ashton under Hill and neighbouring villages.

Our workshop is equipped with tools and resources for woodworking, metalwork, and various DIY projects. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced craftsman, you'll find a supportive environment to work on your ideas and learn new skills.
Repair Services
Community Repair Shop
We offer repair services for a variety of household items. Bring in your broken items and let our skilled members help restore them, fostering sustainability and community support.
If you can afford it, then you can support us by paying for materials and a donation. We can repair :

Tools to Africa
Building Connections
We donate tools to Africa via a charity called Tools with a mission TWaM.
We ensure all tools are serviceable before sending to the TWAM charity.
Opening Hours
We are open from 1st September 2026 - We plan to open on Thursdays & Fridays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Our schedule will be published nearer to the opening date.

Donating to The Ashton under Hill Men's Shed plays a vital role in supporting men’s mental health by providing a safe, welcoming space where men can connect, create, share experiences, and combat isolation. The Men's Shed movement is built around the simple but powerful idea that practical, hands-on activities like woodworking, repairs, or other community projects can encourage meaningful conversation and build a sense of purpose. This environment can also allow men to talk openly about their struggles in a way that feels natural and supportive.
Your donations directly contribute to the maintenance and growth of this community space, which in turn benefits wider village communities. Funding helps provide rent for the premises, tools, materials and occasional external professionals ie First Aid that ensure every member can benefit from their time with the Men's Shed.
You can donate in different ways to support us:
1. Toolcycle
One of the most common donations we receive is tools. We will happily take any tools you would like to donate, from spanners to 3-phase bandsaws, they will all be put to good use. Some tools we use in the Men's Shed to benefit our members, others we can refurbish and sell to raise funds.
